    In May 2017, former deputy Javon Lacy was arrested for allegedly pointing a gun at individuals during a dispute at a Napoleonville school. He faced five counts of aggravated assault with a firearm and carrying a firearm on school premises. Prior to this incident, Lacy had resigned from the Sheriff’s Office following serious threats against a group of people, choosing resignation over termination.
