    In August 2013, Officer Jay Hart was accused of using excessive force during the arrest of John Sadler, who was suspected of DUI. Sadler alleged that Hart choked and punched him during booking, leading to a civil rights lawsuit filed in November 2013. The lawsuit claimed a pattern of excessive force within the department and referenced previous settlements totaling over $300,000 in similar cases.
