Captain Jeffrey Gragg was indicted alongside Sheriff Bob Colbert in March 2016 on charges of bribery and extortion. Gragg conducted a traffic stop in December 2014, discovering $10,000 in cash. He and Colbert were accused of accepting this money in exchange for not pursuing drug charges. In November 2016, Gragg reached an agreement with the Attorney General’s office, pleading ‘no contest’ to a misdemeanor charge of willful neglect of duty, resulting in the dismissal of the felony charges. He agreed to testify against Colbert as part of the agreement.
