In July 2022, the Civilian Police Review Board recommended discipline against Officer Jeffrey Yasenchack for excessive force, lying, and retaliation. Despite the recommendation, the department delayed issuing discipline, and Yasenchack retired before any action was taken. This case was highlighted in a lawsuit by a former police misconduct investigator who claimed the city obstructed investigations into police misconduct.
