In March 2022, Officer Jennifer Caudillo, a 13-year veteran of the Kearney Police Department, provided false information to Nebraska State Patrol investigators during an ongoing investigation. She was convicted of official misconduct, a class 2 misdemeanor, in July 2023. As part of her plea agreement, Caudillo resigned from the department and surrendered her law enforcement certification.
