In June 2016, Jail Administrator Jennifer Shay Niles was charged with first-degree manslaughter following the death of inmate Anthony Huff, who died after being restrained in a chair for 54 hours. Niles was accused of treating Huff in a cruel and inhumane manner and violating jail standards.
