On May 22, 2022, Sergeant Jeremy Brooks arrived at the scene where Pastor Michael Jennings was watering his neighbor’s flowers. Brooks told Jennings that they had a right to identify him and instructed him to listen and be quiet. Jennings was arrested for obstruction of government operations. The charges were later dropped, and Jennings filed a federal lawsuit alleging violations of his constitutional rights, including unlawful arrest and emotional distress.
