In March 2019, Deputy Jerry Wollenschlaeger was charged with third-degree theft after allegedly using $12 left in a lottery machine by another player at a Salem restaurant. He retired in November 2019 through a settlement with the sheriff’s office, and his police certification was revoked in January 2023.
