Former Deputy Jody Elmore was involved in a December 2023 incident where his wife, Officer Dana Elmore, allegedly used excessive force by tasing a handcuffed man, Micah Washington. The lawsuit filed in January 2025 accuses both Elmores of excessive force, deliberate indifference, malicious prosecution, and wrongful detainment. Following the incident, Jody Elmore left the Pickens County Sheriff’s Department.
