    In 2021, Officer Joey Hancock was sued by the ACLU of Indiana for conducting a nonconsensual search of a family’s car during a traffic stop. The driver, David Stautihar, repeatedly objected to the search, which yielded no evidence of criminal activity. The lawsuit alleged that Hancock’s actions violated the Fourth Amendment rights of the individuals involved.
