In January 2015, Deputy John Bieber instructed Sergeant Kowaleski to retrieve a pen-camera from Deputy Wudtke’s computer, suspecting unauthorized recording of a meeting. A forensic examination revealed deleted files, leading to an investigation into Wudtke’s actions. Bieber’s concerns about Wudtke’s trustworthiness resulted in Wudtke’s resignation from the Sheriff’s Office in March 2015.
