In September 2017, Officer John Breault resigned unexpectedly from the Royalton Police Department. Shortly after his resignation, FBI and DEA agents conducted an investigation into the department’s evidence locker. Breault was later charged with taking drugs from the evidence locker and providing them to a woman with whom he was in a relationship.
