In June 2019, Officer Napoleone, along with Officer McClain, responded to a domestic violence complaint at the apartment of former Bridgeport police officer Steven Figueroa. They failed to properly investigate the situation, leaving without further action, which allowed Figueroa to continue assaulting the victim. Napoleone was terminated in July 2020 for mishandling the incident. He later reached a settlement with the city, resulting in his reinstatement to the police force.
