Create And Track Police Department History

Former Chief of Police John Tisdale was involved in the misuse of the Tennessee Informational Enforcement System (TIES) in 2008 by requesting an unauthorized criminal history check on an individual named Cleveland Ellis. This led to a Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) audit in 2009, which found insufficient documentation for the search. In December 2010, Tisdale was placed on leave pending the TBI’s investigation and subsequently resigned from the Gallatin Police Department.
