These arrests were based on warrants issued by Magistrate Leon Welch, following complaints by Wilson. The legitimacy of these arrests was later challenged in court, with allegations of lack of probable cause and potential misconduct in the issuance of the warrants. The charges against Woodard were ultimately dismissed. Wilson’s actions were central to a lawsuit alleging malicious prosecution and other claims.
