In April 2024, Major Johnny Valentine was placed on administrative leave following a complaint investigated by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. The nature of the complaint was not specified. Additionally, Valentine was named in a civil lawsuit by Rock Level Hunting Club members, alleging embezzlement and misuse of the non-profit’s funds during his tenure as director and treasurer. The lawsuit also implicated three other officers who were accused of being aware of and covering up the theft. The plaintiffs claimed Valentine’s actions were criminal.
