In 2022, Deputy Jon Persinger was accused of sexually assaulting a 58-year-old woman in her Auburn home. The woman alleged that Persinger, while in uniform, forced her into performing oral sex on two occasions in September and November 2022, threatening her with arrest for alleged escort activities. Persinger was placed on administrative leave in January 2023, terminated from his position, and arrested in April 2023 on charges including soliciting prostitution and unlawful access to law enforcement data.
