In June 2021, Officer Jonathan Moreno was involved in the arrest of Travis Price, which was captured on video and led to public outcry and protests. Moreno was seen tackling Price, leading to charges of third-degree assault and battery against the officer. He was subsequently fired from the Rock Hill Police Department. In November 2023, the City of Rock Hill settled a lawsuit with Price for $500,000. Moreno was acquitted of the assault and battery charges in early 2022.
