Sergeant Joseph Ianetta has been involved in multiple incidents of alleged excessive force. In May 2016, dashcam footage showed Ianetta kicking a man in the head during a traffic stop, leading to a $160,000 settlement in July 2017. The lawsuit described the kick as a ‘WWE’ style move. Ianetta was also accused of using excessive force during a 2013 arrest, resulting in a $350,000 settlement in 2016. Despite these incidents, Ianetta now leads the city’s Emergency Response Team.
