On January 30, 2020, while on duty, Deputy Sheriff Joshua Davidson placed a woman in custody and drove her to a desolate location where he forced her to perform oral sex against her will. The victim reported the assault immediately, fearing Davidson would shoot her if she did not comply. Davidson pleaded guilty to the sexual assault and was sentenced on August 25, 2023, to 12 and a half years in prison.
