In October 2023, Deputy Jurrone Petry was arrested following allegations of domestic abuse by his girlfriend. She reported multiple instances where Petry punched her in the head, intimidated her with a stun gun, and prevented her from leaving their apartment during arguments. In one incident, after she expressed a wish that he was dead, Petry allegedly handed her his gun and said, ‘Shoot me.’ Petry denied the allegations, but a text message reportedly showed him admitting to punching the victim. He was charged with Battery, False Imprisonment, and Disorderly Conduct, with bail set at a $2,500 signature bond. A court appearance was scheduled for December 1, 2023.
