In 2023, Officer Karl ‘Blake’ Davis was involved in an incident where he used excessive force against 66-year-old Marilyn Fields. Davis slammed Fields, who had a recent hip replacement and wore a back brace, to the ground during a confrontation over parking in a fire lane. Following the incident, Davis issued Fields a citation for parking in a fire lane and resisting a public officer charge. Additionally, Davis left Fields’ vehicle unattended with the engine running and her purse inside. Fields attempted to file a complaint against Davis, but Captain Willis denied her that right, stating he was ‘aware’ of the incident. Fields reported chronic pain and emotional distress as a result of the incident.
