    In December 2017, Deputy Kenneth Achtyl assaulted a Bills fan, Nicholas Belsito, during a tailgate event, resulting in Belsito suffering a broken nose and a concussion. Achtyl was found guilty in September 2019 of assault in the third degree, official misconduct, and falsifying records. He resigned shortly after his conviction. An internal investigation by the Sheriff’s Office was criticized for being inadequate and failing to review crucial body camera footage.
