Former Deputy Kenneth L. Hatch III was indicted in August 2016 on 22 felony counts, including 11 counts of sexual abuse of a minor, three counts of unlawful sexual contact, and eight counts of aggravated furnishing of schedule Z drugs. The charges involved allegations of sexual abuse of three girls, aged 6 to 15 at the time, between 1999 and 2014. Hatch allegedly provided marijuana to two of the girls. In January 2018, as part of a plea agreement, Hatch pleaded no contest to a single misdemeanor count of providing a place for minors to consume alcohol, resulting in a $1,000 fine and the dismissal of all felony charges. This conviction led to the loss of his law enforcement certification, effectively ending his career in law enforcement.
