On May 8, 2020, Deputy Kenny Perkins allegedly used excessive force against Gary Shannon Robertson. Perkins reportedly fired a taser at Robertson without verbal commands, tackled him to the ground, and struck him in the head, causing severe physical injury. Robertson filed a federal lawsuit on May 7, 2021, seeking damages in excess of $100,000.
