Sergeant Kevin Hadley was terminated in December 2005 for negligence and inattention to control and security of departmental property. An investigation revealed that over 2,000 gallons of gasoline worth over $2,500 had been purchased on his department-issued gas card between January and July 2005, many during his off-duty hours. Additionally, a department-issued handgun assigned to him was found missing and later discovered during a drug search. Hadley claimed his brother had taken the gas card without his knowledge.
