In January 2018, Officer Kyle Canaan participated in the arrest of Marconia Kessee, who died in custody shortly after. Body camera footage revealed Canaan taunting Kessee and dragging him across pavement. The incident resulted in a $650,000 settlement for Kessee’s estate in 2023.
