In April 2019, former detention officer Kyle Tecumseh moved pretrial detainee B.B. into a cell with a senior United Aryan Brotherhood (UAB) gang member, knowing the gang member was angry at B.B. and posed a danger. Tecumseh then allowed additional UAB gang members into the cell, leading to B.B. being physically attacked. Tecumseh pleaded guilty to a civil rights misdemeanor charge in March 2023, agreed to never seek law enforcement employment again, and faced up to 12 months imprisonment and a $100,000 fine.
