In 2021, Officer Martel was charged with voyeurism after taking a screenshot of a nude photo of a woman without her permission. An internal investigation in May 2022 found a pattern of inappropriate behavior involving seven women, including assault and sending unsolicited nude photos. His law enforcement certification was revoked in February 2024, with the possibility to reapply after seven years.
