In 1994, Big Hair’s service weapon was stolen from his home and used in the murder of 15-year-old George Hogan Stewart. A civil claim was filed against the U.S. government, alleging Big Hair’s negligence in storing his firearm. The case was settled in 1998 without admitting guilt. Additionally, in 1995, Big Hair was accused of raping a woman while transporting her to jail for alcohol violations. This case was also settled without admitting guilt.
