Former Officer Levy Kelly was accused of sexually assaulting Alexandria Quinn over a three-year period starting when she was 14. In 2012, after Quinn threatened to reveal the abuse, Kelly allegedly maced her during an arrest for minor in possession of alcohol, a charge that was later dropped. Kelly was arrested in December 2012 after the Alabama Bureau of Investigation found evidence on his phone. He faced charges including first-degree rape, first-degree assault, and enticing a child under 16. The federal civil lawsuit filed by Quinn in 2014 was delayed multiple times and was set for trial in December 2020. Kelly was also charged with impersonating a police officer in 2002 and 2016. He was terminated from the Tuskegee Police Department following the 2012 arrest.
