In 2024, Lieutenant Chelsea Tierney was named in a lawsuit filed by Officer Kess, alleging complicity in the department’s discriminatory practices. Despite being the only female supervisor, Tierney is accused of over-supervising Kess’s work at the direction of the Chief and failing to protect female officers from harassment. The lawsuit claims Tierney’s inaction violated department policy and federal law. The case is ongoing, and no disciplinary actions have been publicly disclosed as of now.
