Lieutenant Derek Hendry was fired from the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office in 2018 for timecard fraud. He was later hired by the Willits Police Department, where he was promoted to lieutenant. In 2022, Hendry was terminated following multiple allegations of sexual harassment and assault. Former Willits Police Chief Alexis Blaylock filed a lawsuit alleging a hostile work environment, harassment, sexism, and racism, naming Hendry as a sexual harasser. The city settled the lawsuit for $250,000. Additionally, Lorna Allen accused Hendry of coercing her into sexual encounters over five years, including incidents inside a police vehicle.([kymkemp.com](https://kymkemp.com/2024/04/27/ex-willits-police-officer-awarded-2-25-million-in-sexual-harassment-lawsuit-tied-to-disgraced-cop-derek-hendry/?utm_source=openai))
