In April 2020, Lieutenant Nuno was accused of sexual misconduct involving female recruits during police academy training. Allegations included inappropriate touching and comments. The District Attorney’s Office determined no crime occurred, but an administrative investigation led to a recommendation for termination. Nuno retired in August 2020, closing the misconduct case and waiving his rights to appeal the termination.
