    In 2015, Lieutenant Cole was accused of making unwanted, flirtatious communications towards a subordinate, including sending unsolicited text messages with winking emojis and commenting on her appearance. After the subordinate reported his behavior, she received a negative performance evaluation from Cole and was later terminated. The subordinate filed a lawsuit alleging sexual harassment and retaliation.
