In December 2020, Lt. Lance Yashiro was investigated for allegedly claiming overtime hours he did not work while assigned to the COVID-19 Enforcement Team. He was reportedly caught leaving early while claiming overtime, leading to a criminal probe into suspected theft and falsifying government documents. As a result, he was placed on desk duty pending the outcome of the investigation.
