In 2012 and 2013, while employed at the West Salem Police Department, Bellacero was arrested twice for domestic disorderly conduct after threatening his then-wife. In the 2012 incident, he called her approximately 87 times in less than four hours and used a panic button to locate her car. In 2013, during their divorce proceedings, he entered her residence without permission, threatened her life, and ignored a restraining order. He resigned from the West Salem Police Department in May 2013 and was hired by the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office in April 2013. Despite these incidents, he was promoted to K9 officer within the department.
