Captain Detective Mark Hayes was found liable in a gender discrimination, harassment, and retaliation lawsuit filed by Lt. Detective Donna Gavin. In November 2024, a federal jury awarded Gavin $2 million after determining that Hayes had discriminated against her based on her gender and retaliated against her for filing complaints about his treatment.
