In May 2020, former Sergeant Mark McCoy was arrested for purchasing Oxycodone without a prescription. McCoy, a 14-year veteran and K-9 handler, resigned abruptly in March 2020 during an internal affairs investigation. He was charged with multiple offenses, including possession of drug equipment, purchase of a Schedule I or II substance, possession of harmful new legend drugs without a prescription, use of a two-way communication device to facilitate a felony, and possession of Oxycodone. Reports indicated that McCoy purchased the pills both on and off duty, sometimes using his marked patrol unit.

Important Community Guidelines

It is strictly against our rules to:

Why This Matters

By organizing this data, we can potentially demonstrate when officers were previously aware of laws they later claim ignorance of, challenging qualified immunity defenses and promoting accountability.
