Former Police Chief Martin Skibba engaged in multiple instances of misconduct, including drinking alcohol on duty and creating a culture of fear within the department. On February 26, 2020, Skibba was found to have consumed alcohol during the workday, leading to a 15-day unpaid suspension. Further investigations revealed additional incidents where he was reportedly intoxicated at work, used racist and sexist language, and fostered an environment where officers feared retaliation for reporting misconduct. Skibba resigned on June 19, 2020, following these revelations.
