Officer Matthew Drake was involved in multiple incidents of excessive force and serious misconduct. In July 2020, he was suspended for four days for transporting a complainant in his personal vehicle, which was deemed improper. Less than eight months later, in March 2021, he shot and killed Tyshon Jones, a Black man experiencing a mental health crisis. Drake faced no criminal charges for the shooting and remains on the force.
