    In July 2020, Deputy Matthew Fields pursued a suspect wanted on a federal gun charge. After a police dog apprehended the suspect, Fields struck the suspect in the face with a closed fist while the suspect was being bitten by the dog. Fields was terminated in July 2020 and charged with third-degree assault and battery in December 2020.
