Detective Gutwill was found to have violated department policies by making untruthful statements during an investigation. Specifically, he falsely denied making certain comments to Chief Ferguson and was dishonest about disclosing information to Deputy Chief Brandolini regarding a federal narcotics wiretap. As a result, he was suspended for five days without pay for violations of the department’s truthfulness and conduct unbecoming a police officer policies.
