In November 2021, Officer Matthew Knutson struck a suspect with his squad car during a traffic stop. An investigation revealed discrepancies between Knutson’s report and bodycam footage, showing he drove onto a lawn to hit the fleeing suspect. Knutson was charged with attempted misconduct in office and negligent operation of a motor vehicle. He pleaded no contest to the former, resulting in a $500 fine and additional fees. The Green Bay Police Department sustained allegations of policy violations and announced Knutson’s resignation, effective December 31, 2023.
