In April 2024, Melissa Johnson, a former employee of the Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office, was arrested for malfeasance in office. She conspired with another employee to steal over $6,000 by falsifying timesheets for transport bus duties. Johnson pleaded guilty in September 2024 and received a year of probation.
