Deputy Michael Parker was named in a lawsuit filed in December 2020 by a former high school intern alleging that Parker, along with other officers, engaged in inappropriate sexual conduct during her internship at the sheriff’s office. The lawsuit accused Parker of making sexual advances and participating in sexual encounters with the intern, who was 18 at the time. The suit claimed that Parker and others exploited their positions of authority to engage in these acts. The lawsuit was settled in 2021.
