In July 2022, Acting Undersheriff Michael Walker was accused of drinking and driving. After a deputy reported this misconduct, Walker allegedly retaliated by recommending the deputy’s demotion and initiating baseless disciplinary actions. The deputy was placed on administrative leave for ‘attempting to influence [the] investigation’ into Walker. These actions led to a lawsuit alleging retaliation and a hostile work environment.
