Corporal Nathan Cook, a Worcester County Jail officer, was also implicated in the September 2021 suicide of inmate Kyle Arthur. A lawsuit alleges that Cook oversaw a midday wellness check on Arthur but remained outside the cellblock, preventing any meaningful interaction. The suit contends that Cook’s lack of proper engagement or intervention was negligent and contributed to Arthur’s death. Arthur’s family is pursuing a civil rights case seeking damages for the jail’s failure to protect him.
