Corporal Nathan Cook, a Worcester County Jail officer, was also implicated in the September 2021 suicide of inmate Kyle Arthur. A lawsuit alleges that Cook oversaw a midday wellness check on Arthur but remained outside the cellblock, preventing any meaningful interaction. Afterward, Cook wrote in an incident log that Arthur had a ‘good demeanor’ and nothing appeared out of the ordinary. The suit contends that Cook’s lack of proper engagement or intervention was negligent and contributed to Arthur’s death. Arthur’s family is pursuing a civil rights case seeking damages for the jail’s failure to protect him.

Important Community Guidelines

It is strictly against our rules to:

Why This Matters

By organizing this data, we can potentially demonstrate when officers were previously aware of laws they later claim ignorance of, challenging qualified immunity defenses and promoting accountability.
