Officer Nicholas Hackley was involved in a 2022 incident where he conducted an improper public strip search of Ronnie Reed, violating department policy and Florida law. Hackley and another officer forcibly pulled down Reed’s pants on a public street during a drug search, exposing him to bystanders. The search yielded no drugs, and the charges against Reed were eventually dropped. Hackley received formal counseling for his actions.
