In 2015, while serving as Chief of Police in Saint Paul, Hunnicutt sexually abused a 14-year-old girl. He was convicted of second-degree sexual abuse of a minor in September 2023 and sentenced to 15 years in prison with 8 years suspended in January 2024. Following his release, he will be on probation for 10 years.
